Movember Crewsade

October 20th, 2011

November has been renamed to celebrate men’s health charity ‘Movember’. Crewsaders are challenging all crewmen, freelancers and clients to grow a moustache during the month of November to raise money for the charity.

Any type, style and colour of moustache is permitted. Three prizes are offered for the best three moustaches. First prize is £100, second prize is £75 and third prize is £50. Crewsaders will also be donating £225.00 to the Movember charity as part of the crewsade.

All our crewmen, freelancers and clients are encouraged to take part. You must start with a clean face on the 1st November. Please take a photograph and send this in to james@crewsaders.com to verify your clean-cut appearance and that you intend entering the event. Feel free to post updates of your growth on our Facebook page during the month of Movember.

Judging will take place at the end of the month on the 30th. In order to qualify for your moustache to be judged, you must send in a photograph of your growth by the judging date. A reminder about the judging date and other updates on the charity crewsade will be posted on Facebook during the month of Movember. If you would like more information on the work of the Movember charity go to www.movember.com/uk

EPS-AWARDS-2011-Finalist-logo V4

Crewsaders has been nominated as a finalist for Crewing Company of the Year at the Event Production Awards 2012. This inaugural event celebrates those companies that have excelled in event production. Crewsaders are proud to have been nominated in the crew category, which is the only one of its kind in the industry’s awards calendar. Nic Howden, editor of Access All Areas has congratulated the finalists on their dedication to ‘excellence and professionalism’.

Crewsaders are up against stiff opposition. Six companies have been as finalists in the crew company category. National and London based crew suppliers will be judges on their performance at a single event and on their business in general. The Crew Company of the Year 2012 will be announced at an awards ceremony to be held at Olympia Exhibition Centre on Wednesday 1st February 2012.

Crewsaders would like to thank the headline sponsor, the Event Production Show, and the other sponsors of the event – Capital House Productions, Createvents, Agility Fairs and Event Industry News, Access All Areas and Ocean Media – for this opportunity to showcase our particular sector as an important part of the event production lifecycle. We look forward to being part of establishing the Event Production Awards as a permanent feature of the industry’s awards calendar.

Jobs For Heroes

October 3rd, 2011

Crewsaders will be exhibiting at the BFRS International Armed Forces Networks’ job fair on 6th October 2011. We will be joining companies such as BAE Systems, British Gas, GE Healthcare, The Princes Trust and many more organisations that are passionate about the resettlement of current and former members of our Armed Forces.

The job fair is aimed at Armed Forces personnel who are making the transition from military to civilian life. Unfortunately many members of our Armed Forces are facing redundancy. Crewsaders wants to play their part in helping our heroes adapt to that life with job opportunities being offered at the ground level of the events industry.

Our industry is a perfect place for ex-forces personnel as it offers a similar way of life that they can easily adapt to. Being part of a close knit team, working in a variety of locations at differing times and getting one chance to get it right are some of the factors that the events industry and the Armed Forces have in common. The skills that are being offered to our industry by these heroes vary from a variety of technical skills to basic labour. But, in every case these invaluable individuals offer personal attributes such as loyalty and a determination to succeed. This is why they are heroes.

The job fair will be taking place at Tidworth Leisure Centre, Nadder Road, Tidworth, Wiltshire SP9 7QN on the 6th October 2011 from 10am to 3pm.
